The Spain Section of Medecins Sans Frontieres is recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Supply Chain Officer
Location: Abuja
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
Duration: Starting with 6 month (Renewable)
Working hours: 208 working hours per month.
Main Purpose
- Organizing and supervising the daily supply chain activities and the teams associated, at the coordination or project level, according to MSF protocols and standards to ensure the optimal running of the mission.
Job Description
- Supervising and organizing the daily activities of the Supply Chain team, including Purchaser and Storekeeper, and ensuring they perform the tasks linked to their role.
- Being responsible for the orders, purchase (logistic and local medical purchase), stock and freight management in the coordination, monitoring and ensuring an efficient implementation of the overall daily supply chain activities.
- Monitoring and ensuring a smooth–running supply administration and the respect of the implemented supply procedures, proposing adjustments where needed.
- Being responsible for the supply database and the correct filing and archiving of the supply documentation in order to guarantee the availability and the coherence of supply data.
- Communicating regularly with project team, keeping them up to date concerning their orders status (back–order confirmation), prioritizing procurement and transport according to their needs, and collecting claims from them, analyzing causes and making corrective actions.
- Supervising warehouse activities including stock inventories, proposing improvement in stock management if needed.
- Planning, prioritizing and organizing the shipment of goods purchased locally and managing all related administration documents. Responsible for inventory reporting.
- Coordinating and leading the team under his/her responsibility including the daily workers, defining each person’s tasks (daily supervision and checking the quality of their work); drawing up working schedule and organizing and leading team meetings.
- In collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and in coordination with the HR department, supervising the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required.
- Informing the Supply Chain Manager in case of any major issue and draws–up all required reporting, to keep updated and reliable information that will help in decision–making
- Planning and supervising the day–to–day activities and administrative processes to ensure an efficient running of the transportation processes of medical and non–medical goods for a supply office (coordination or project), ensuring compliance of MSF standards, protocols and procedures.
- Performing any other tasks within the scope of his role, as directed by supervision and according to the needs of the mission
Requirements
- Education: Essential Degree and specialization in Logistics/Supply Chain
- Experience: Experience in supply chain management (minimum 2 years) and in the organization of supply administration and procedures.
- Language: English language essential, local language desirable.
- Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet, power point)
- Competencies: Results and Quality Orientation, Teamwork and Cooperation, Behavioural Flexibility, MSF Principles, Stress Management.

As per MSF salary scale (National contract)
