Overview

  • The MCGL / RISE-IHP project is a comprehensive initiative aimed at strengthening the Primary Healthcare (PHC) system in Nigeria, with a focus on improving Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, Nutrition (MNCH+N), Reproductive Health, routine immunization, malaria, and HIV services.
  • The project is being implemented in select states in Nigeria, with the goal of enhancing community engagement, accountability, and resource mobilization to improve healthcare outcomes.
  • As part of this effort, subrecipient Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) play a critical role in mobilizing communities, promoting health services, and supporting referral pathways.
  • To build the capacity of these CSOs, a 4-day training is required on community-led approaches to resource mobilization, community engagement techniques, and social accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a training plan and agenda: Develop a detailed training plan and agenda, including learning objectives, content, and methodology.
  • Prepare training materials: Prepare training materials, including presentations, handouts, and exercises, on the following topics:
    • Community-led approaches to resource mobilization
    • Community engagement techniques
    • Social accountability for MNCH+N, routine immunization, malaria, and HIV services
    • Use of multimedia tools for documentation and referral tracking
  • Conduct the training: Conduct a 4-day training for selected sub-recipient CSOs, using interactive and participatory approaches.
  • Facilitate group work and discussions: Facilitate group work and discussions to ensure participants apply learning to their contexts.
  • Provide technical support: Provide technical support and guidance to participants during the training.
  • Evaluate the training: Evaluate the training using pre- and post-tests, participant feedback, and other relevant methods.
  • Develop a training report.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in community engagement, social accountability, and resource mobilization
  • Knowledge of MNCH+N, routine immunization, malaria, and HIV programs
  • Strong facilitation and training skills
  • Familiarity with Nigerian context and PHC system
  • Experience with multimedia tools for documentation and referral tracking.
