The Nigerian Tobacco Control Alliance (NTCA) is a collaboration of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), and professionals based in Abuja. NTCA seeks to influence policy decisions on tobacco-related issues, human rights, public health, good governance in Nigeria and values competence and collaboration to maximize the most of our collective experience.

Job Title: Digital Communications Officer

Role Overview

  • NTCA is seeking a creative, strategic, and digitally-inclined Communications Officer to drive the Alliance’s visibility, storytelling, and public engagement.
  • This role integrates institutional communications, digital strategy, social media management, and print media production, and is central to positioning NTCA as a credible and influential voice in tobacco control.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement NTCA’s communication and digital engagement strategy across online and offline platforms.
  • Manage and grow NTCA’s digital presence, including social media platforms and website content.
  • Create, curate, and oversee high-quality content for digital and print media, including graphics, videos, reports, newsletters, and advocacy materials..
  • Coordinate social media planning, content approval, publishing, and performance tracking.
  • Produce compelling stories that highlight NTCA’s activities, achievements, and impact.
  • Support media engagement through press releases, articles, and coordination of press events.
  • Maintain a structured archive of photos, videos, publications, and communication assets.
  • Identify and deploy innovative communication tools, platforms, and approaches to strengthen reach and influence.
  • Work closely with programme and leadership teams to support campaigns, events, and advocacy initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communications, digital media, or content strategy.
  • Strong competence in social media management, content creation, and digital analytics.
  • Experience producing both digital and print communication materials.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with design tools, basic video editing, and content management systems is an added advantage.
  • Ability to think strategically, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs.
