Youth & Inclusion Officer (Oyo) at the Planned Parenthood Federation Of Nigeria

The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN) is a national non-governmental organization promoting Reproductive Health (RH) in Nigeria. As a full member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), PPFN has expanded the scope of its programs beyond family planning to cover broad reproductive health, emphasizing the needs of adolescents and young people and safe motherhood.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Youth & Inclusion Officer

Location: Oyo

Your Role

  • Take the lead in implementing youth-focused and gender-responsive ASRHR interventions at state level in line with approved workplans.
  • Coordinate and deliver Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) activities for adolescents and young people in schools and out of schools.
  • Support implementation of peer education, youth engagement forums, and community dialogues that address gender norms, stigma, and barriers to SRHR access.
  • Ensure meaningful participation of adolescents and young people, including marginalized and vulnerable groups in the project activities.
  • Work closely with the Youth and Inclusion Officer at NHQ to align state-level activities with national ASRHR strategies and standards.
  • Support adaptation of national tools, guidelines, and approaches to the State context.
  • Coordinate with service delivery points, implementing partners, and community structures to improve youth access to youth-friendly SRHR services.
  • Collect, validate, and submit routine activity reports, disaggregated data, success stories, and lessons learned.
  • Support monitoring of ASRHR indicators, including gender and age disaggregation.
  • Participate in review meetings, learning sessions, and adaptive management processes coordinated by NHQ.
  • Ensure all youth activities comply with safeguarding, child protection, and gender equality standards.
  • Promote inclusive approaches that address the needs of young people with disabilities, out-of-school youth, and other underserved groups.
  • Support engagement with state ministries, youth-focused government agencies, schools, CSOs, and community leaders to strengthen ASRHR delivery.
  • Represent the project in relevant state-level meetings, coalitions, and youth platforms as delegated.
  • Support advocacy efforts aimed at improving youth-friendly policies and service environments.

What You Bring

  • Strong facilitation, coordination, and interpersonal skills, especially with adolescents and young people.
  • Good understanding of gender-responsive and rights-based programming.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently at state level while maintaining strong coordination with NHQ.
  • Proficiency in basic data collection tools and MS Office applications.
  • High level of professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to ASRHR principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience implementing youth-focused or ASRHR/SRHR programmes at community or state level.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering or coordinating Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) programmes.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development, gender equality, and youth engagement approaches in Nigeria.
